Projects are the way to organize your work in Allcancode Platform. There are two types of projects:
- Application Projects. Their purpose is to produce an app that will be delivered to the Web, to mobile devices or both.
- Library Projects. Their purpose is to provide a collection of related components that can be used in other projects. The "allcancode" project contains the basic UI and connectivity components that you will need for your first apps.
You don't need to specify the type of your project as that is a matter of how you use it. Otherwise, both types of projects share the same structure. You also don't need to specify whether a project is delivered as a web or mobile app as that is a matter of how you will publish it later on.
|Publishing a project as a web and mobile app is subject to licensing terms, so please consult our pricing model. There is a FREE plan, too!|
Starting from Log in
When you log in to Allcancode Platform you are prompted to open an existing project or create a new one using the "CREATE" button:
Starting with "Try now!"
If you have chosen to just try the platform without creating an account then a project is created automatically for you and the platform takes you directly into it.
In that case, just move on to creating an app page.
Starting from an existing project
When we have an existing project open, creating a new one is as simple as clicking on the "folder-plus" icon on the left toolbar:
Once you have the "New Project" dialog open:
Just type in its name in the pop-up dialog and click the "CREATE" button.
|Please note that project names need to be unique in your workspace. If you have an organization account then this restriction applies to all projects created within your organization. Otherwise, it applies to all projects created in the Allcancode Platform.|
Once a project is created the platform opens it for editing. The next step is to create the first page of your app. This is how the platform looks like after opening a new project:
